Psychologist Providing Therapy in Spokane

You’ve tried going it alone. You’ve told yourself if you just try a little harder, wait a little longer, things will get better. But you are still struggling. Therapy can help.

Hi, my name is Lauren!

I’m Lauren Koch, PhD, a licensed psychologist in Spokane, WA. I provide therapy to adults in the aftermath of trauma, adults with combat PTSD, and high achieving adults who are experiencing anxiety.

Becoming a psychologist in Spokane.

I became a psychologist in Spokane, WA because I know what it’s like to feel hurt and alone, without a clear sense of how to move forward. While I may not share your exact experiences, you’ll find that I can still connect to your pain. I build a collaborative relationship with my patients. We work together to move through difficult experiences and build a foundation for a rich, meaningful life.

What does therapy look like?

The process of therapy will include compassion, empathy, and a lot of humor. You can read more about my approach to therapy and my training and experience below. But I know you can’t really tell if someone is the right fit for you by reading a resume (you can find that here if you are interested).

My Approach to Therapy

As a psychologist, my approach to therapy varies to meet your individual needs. My training included psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, both of which I use regularly in mental health treatment. More specifically, I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when working with high achieving adults with anxiety. I am also a certified Prolonged Exposure therapist—one of the gold-standard treatments for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and combat PTSD.
